Hi I'm Zak, a recent Astrophysics graduate from the University of Edinburgh, and budding freelance photographer, specialising in architecture and travel. Last year I was lucky enough to be commissioned to shoot a large proportion of the location photography for the CR Smith Edinburgh Trams campaign, which has recently been entered for The Drum Out-Of-Home Advertising Awards. During my course I self-funded trips to Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris, where I built a portfolio of images that you can view at www.zdsphotography.com. The more recent shots were taken on my Canon EOS 70D, whereas the ?Before EOS? images were taken on my Canon Compact and iPhone. Arranging the logistics of the CR Smith project, involving direct liaison with the senior client and, in addition, planning the excursions to Europe have helped me build on the organisational skills and teamwork that were essential to my course and my time at university. As a keen photographer, I'm enthusiastic about all aspects of camera technology (my degree course included modules on optics and lenses) and quick to learn about how to operate and optimise new gear, meaning I have a scientific understanding of lighting and imaging that pays useful when assisting photography of different subject matters, such as people.
